Je suis intéressée à encadrer des étudiant∙e∙s à la maitrise et au doctorat qui souhaitent travailler sur les problèmes des peuples autochtones d'Amérique du Nord, d'Amérique du Sud et de différentes parties du monde. J'aimerais également encadrer des étudiant.e.s intéressés par des sujets tels que la toxicomanie, les problèmes de santé mentale, les services et technologies pour améliorer les conditions de vie des populations en situation de vulnérabilité ainsi que les approches théoriques décoloniales, féministes et anti-oppressives.

Expertises

Mon expérience de recherche et d'enseignement s'est concentrée sur la façon dont les technologies médicales et des interventions sont conçues et utilisées par des experts et des non-experts pour fournir des soins à des groupes de personnes en situation de vulnérabilité, en particulier les populations autochtones du Pérou et du Canada. Les technologies que j'étudie vont des technologies psychiatriques (par exemple, la médication psychiatrique, la thérapie par électrochocs, et l’art-thérapie), à l'intelligence artificielle, en passant des interventions de santé publique. Dans mes recherches, je travaille en collaboration avec des médecins, des scientifiques, des ingénieurs, des intervenants, des organisations communautaires de patients et des utilisateurs de ces technologies pour comprendre l'intersection entre production de connaissances, pratiques de soins, réformes néolibérales et politiques publiques.

Mes axes de recherche actuels et que je développerai dans le futur sont :

1) les interventions adaptées des services en toxicomanie,

2) l’art pour la guérison, et

3) les technologies médicales pour améliorer la santé

Je suis anthropologue culturelle de formation (PhD, University of California, Davis) avec spécialisation en anthropologie médicale, en études des sciences et technologies (Science and Technology Studies – STS), en théories féministes et en théories décoloniales.  J’ai aussi réalisé un premier postdoctorat au Service sur les dépendances de la Faculté de médecine et des sciences de la santé de l’Université de Sherbrooke et un deuxième postdoctorat au Biosignal Interaction and Personhood Technology Lab de l’École de physiothérapie et d'ergothérapie de l'Université McGill. La principale méthodologie de recherche que j’utilise est l’ethnographie que je combine avec la recherche participative et des méthodes qualitatives et quantitatives.
